And as of the time of typing, we're on the Ancestral lands.

My favorite map to play is Saltspray Beach because it's the balanced map. Sadly, the line always seems to shift past it when I'm asleep.

actually for us Luxons Ancestral Lands isnt all too bad...
some of us are too scared of it but if we get smart partners we just dominate the cocky Kurzicks who think Ancestal Lands=auto win.
surprise surprise but once a smart Luxon team nukes the NPCs inside the Fort Ancestral Lands becomes a Kurzick Massacre

As a Luxon I actually love the Kurzick maps. Especially Ancestral Lands. Even if the Luxons do reasonably well we get a decent reward, but with the potential for a huge faction reward if we win. It only takes 2 wins in Ancestral Lands for me to donate 5,000 faction, whereas I need over 3 wins in Etnaran or Kaanai to donate 5,000 faction. GOGO Kurzicks, keep that map in Kurzick Country! ^^

I agree completely. I was making an absolute killing in Ancestral Lands yesterday, donating 20K in a little over two hours. I went 6-4 before the map changed to Grenz. I took a break and when I came back, we couldn't win anything, and I only donated 5k more in over an hour of play.

The Luxons have a great chance at winning AL if everyone agrees on the same strategy. Whether it's defending the bridge, attacking the base or just capping around clockwise, as long as everyone has the same goal in mind, you've got a good chance at winning.

As a Kurzick, I hate listening to whining when we're on Kaanai. It's triple faction if we win, 499 points (its happened) would give you 1,497. That's more than a win on most maps. You have to be on a really shitty team to get less than 800, in my experience.

As a Kurzick, I love the deep Luxon map too ^_^. It's tough, but fun, and I manage to win a decent amount of matches there anyway

I've found that when it's the Ancestral map, most 'inexperienced' (to put it nicely) players are discouraged from playing, because of the high Kurzick advantage on this map. (Which is annoying when you're trying to get friends to come along :P). I've played there, and won, more often than I've lost. The more experienced players, and by that, I mean players who know how to cap, that mobs = bad, and 1vs1'ing a pissed off wammo with a crappy build is a no-no.

A general rule, whenever there is any feature for a weekend, go with a guild group or just avoid it. AB is a perfect example.

That's just... wrong! Wrong I tell you! And you miss out on all the alliance to be had when it's in Kanaai or Ancestral. I looove getting 2500 for a winning match.

Luxons generally know that capping is what is important, but Kurzicks ALWAYS seem to mob. Mobbing = lose
Seeing as there were only two people saying that and in most matches Kurzicks advocate capping, I am fairly certain they were joking.

They may know it but they sure don't show it. (Not in alliance battles at least! Mobbing every single match. Glad they do, actually, because it has opened the way for our guild to design builds that take advantage of their predictable mobbing to beat them on a reliable basis whenever we decide to do AB.)

Agreed. It always amuses me when people go "___ always mob! [Other side] usually knows how to play!" complete with a smug smiley. I've seen mobbing and other idiot tactics on both sides; I've watched my fellow teammates c-space-go into the ele shrine chasing a random enemy, and I've lured my enemies into the ele shrine as well. One side is not fundamentally better at ABs than the other side.

Alright, I would like to think of myself as an "experienced" ABer, even though i am only on rank 7 of the title.(To be honest, a very small fraction of it is from FFF. I can't lie.) and what I have noticed is that both sides mob just as frequently, yet when you're winning and mobbing you fail to notice it.

But when losing to a mob, you call them out. "<Insert faction insult here>s mob like noob!"(Translated from the garbage grammar that an average AB player uses, of course). So, you may be saying that the Kurzicks mob more, and we may be saying that the Luxons mob more. It doesn't really matter, both sides do it just as often. In most games I play in, Kurzicks don't mob, and we rarely lose(2, maybes 3 losses a day out of 15 games). For one, my name is Keep Capping No Mob, and second, I let people know that capping = win while waiting for the gates to open.

I enjoy playing on Kaanai simply because all of the experienced players continue to AB for the Kurzick side when the map is that far, and a vast majority of the inexperienced Luxons go to AB for their faction, and so the matches are actually very close and faction is excellent for losing.(Same goes for Ancestral when you're Luxon)

So, can we stop with all this "who is better?" nonsense and focus on a real issue? Like..maybe...the quality of the builds one finds in AB?

Do you mob with the fourth team, too? They're pretty hard to find. Just make sure you have Conjure phantasm constantly on someone though, and you'll be fine. Also, just make sure you yell at the paragons who don't want to 1v1 you.

btw, I think you should get on now so we can do some AB.

EDIT: All of the above are inside jokes, if you don't find them funny you're not supposed to.
